Nena Watkins, Lac, received her Bachelor degree in chemistry from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. She then moved to Seattle, Washington and got her Master degree in Acupuncture from Bastyr University. She enjoyed a practice there for several years before moving home to Dallas. Today, Nena practices in the Bishop Art neighborhood of Oak Cliff in Dallas, Texas.

Nena’s education in chemistry led her interests away from pharmaceutical products and towards natural herbal medicine. She loved learning Chinese Herbs as part of her training in Chinese medicine and continued to study for years as an apprentice in an herbal dispensary to deepen her knowledge.

Practicing at her clinic, Oak Cliff Acupuncture, Nena Watkins, Lac, offers Chinese medicine to balance each individual. This includes acupuncture, Chinese herbs, dietary advice, and meditation exercises specifically based on each person’s specific symptoms.

Nena Watkins, Lac offers services for the nonprofit organizations Our Birthing Home, which provides alternative wellness services to low income families, and My Breast Choice, which provides resources for women diagnosed with breast cancer. She has also partnered with Juiceland, as a community wellness provider. Nena also enjoys writing about the beauty of Chinese medicine and is often a contributing writer for both Dallas Yoga Magazineand Living Yoga Dallas.
